LOWELL -- Florence (Drouin) Tookmanian, 81, a resident for many years of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, who was a retired mail clerk, died Thursday morning, Dec. 22, at Lowell General Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Thomas Tookmanian, who died in 1988.She was born in Lowell, Nov. 23, 1924, daughter of the late Eugene and Yvonne (Tremblay) Drouin. She attended St. Jeanne D'Arc School and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1943. She went on to attend Lowell Commercial College.She was a former parishioner of St. Jeanne D'Arc Church in Lowell.Before retiring, Mrs. Tookmanian was a mail clerk for Apollo Computer Co. Previously, she worked as a security guard at the former Wang Laboratories.Mrs. Tookmanian was an auxiliary member of the Disabled American Veterans.She is survived by two sisters, Sister Lucille Drouin Grey S.C.O. and Doris Drouin of Lowell; many nieces and nephews including, Mark Bukala of Hudson, N.H.; and two sisters-in-laws Mary Maradian and Helen Thompson, residing in Connecticut.She was also the sister of the late Gabrielle Beauchesne, Sister Pauline Drouin S.C.O. and Yvette Bukala.
