Arthur D. "Art" Dubuc -- February 14, 1924 - November 22, 2005 --Arthur D. “Art” Dubuc, 81, of Homestead Lane, Attleboro, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Life Care of Attleboro. He was the husband of 61 years of Doris M. (Lefebvre) Dubuc. They were married on November 23, 1944. Born on February 14, 1924, in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Arthur A. and Marie A. (Maigret) Dubuc. He was educated at St. Joseph's School and attended Attleboro Jewelry Trade School. Mr. Dubuc was a veteran of the United States Navy. During WWII he served as a coxswains mate 2nd class in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. Following his service to his country he returned to Attleboro and remained a lifelong resident of the city. He worked as a supervisor at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 45 years.He was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He took special pride in the fact that his grandfather was among the founding members of St. Joseph's. Mr. Dubuc coached Little League in Attleboro for 14 years and served as President of the Attleboro Little League Association for 6 years. He also served on the City of Attleboro Recreation Commission for over 20 years. He was a longtime member of the Attleboro Knights of Columbus, and the American Welding Society. Mr. Dubuc enjoyed a full and active retirement. Among his many hobbies and interests he enjoyed bowling, painting, woodworking, and welding. He accompanied his sons and other friends on hunting trips to the Berkshires, Maine, and New Brunswick, Canada. His first love always remained golf. He played at many area courses and also in Florida.Art will be remembered for his strong work ethic and do-it-yourself spirit. Many afternoons found him engaged in both home improvement and auto repair projects with his sons at his side.His most cherished times were those spent with his family, including many family vacations and camping trips to Baxter State Park in Maine.n addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by three sons, Michael Dubuc, and his wife Patricia, of Attleboro, Ronald Dubuc, and his wife Diane, of Mansfield, and Dana Dubuc, and his wife Marie, of Florida. Three brothers, Rodrigue Dubuc, Rene Dubuc, and Charles Dubuc, all of Attleboro. Four sisters, Adrienne Messier, of North Attleboro, Geraldine Gallagher, of Florida, Jeannine Ouellette, of Plympton, and Gloria Turcotte, of Attleboro. He was the brother of the late Jean Dubuc. He is also survived by 5 grandsons, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his funeral Monday, November 28, 2005 at 9:00 am from the Foley-Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 South Main Street, Rte. 152, Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, South Main St., Rte. 152, Attleboro.
