Rose Anita DUCHARME

CLIFTON PARK, NY -- Rose Anita Holohan, 84, of the Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care Center and former Ballston Lake resident died on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at her residence after a long illness. She was born on January 2, 1921 in Graylock, Mass. and was the daughter of the late Wilfrid and Clara Aubin Ducharme. She was the salutatorian of the graduating class of 1937 at Waterford High School, having graduated at the age of 16. She received an academic scholarship to the College of St. Rose. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Bud Peter Holohan, whom she married on August 31, 1941. While her husband was serving with the United States Army in the European Theatre, Rose Anita worked for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady as a dispatcher. Following this, she and her husband owned and operated the Round Lake Meat Market from 1961-1965. She retired from the New York State Department of Tax and Finance in Albany as a statistics clerk having worked there for about 20 years. She had been an active member of the Round Lake Fire Company. She served as president of the ladies auxiliary and held many other positions within the company. She was a member of the Malta Seniors, a communicant of Corpus Christi Church and was an accomplished piano player. Mrs. Holohan was the devoted mother of Francis P. (Joan) Holohan of Ballston Lake, Edward J. (Jennifer) of Saratoga, Michael J. Holohan of Rensselaer, Judith A. Cromer of Ballston Lake, Linda C. Landrigan of Clifton Park, Timothy P. (Eileen) Holohan of Clifton Park, Joseph Holohan of Ft. Worth, Texas, Vivian F. Holohan of Colchester, Conn., Terrence W. Holohan of Altamont and Lawrence D. Holohan of Canajoharie; sister of the late Gerald Ducharme; former mother-in-law of Margaret Holohan, Joseph Landrigan and Nancy Thompson; also survived by 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a special gratitude to the staff at Schuyler Ridge for their loving care. Funeral will be held Friday morning at 8:15 from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park, thence to Corpus Christi Church in Ushers where at 9:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Waterford.
