LAFAYETTE - Memorial services for Gordon Edward Dugal III, 52, who died at his mother's residence Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, after an extended, hard-fought battle with cancer, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Kaliste Saloom Road, Lafayette, La.The Rev. Monsignor Harry Benefiel will officiate.Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Gordon was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His beloved animals were part of many memorable camping excursions with Gordon and his friends. His love for the outdoors was matched by love for his chosen trade, carpentry. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Gordon was a carpenter whose work gave him pleasure and pride. He also used his green thumb to plant and beautify property of his friends and mother.Survivors include two sons, Bryan James Dugal, Eunice, La. and Richard Andrew "Andy" Dugal, Cheboygan, Mich.; the mother of his two sons, Karen Neely, Raleigh, N.C., and Rachel Dugal, Cheboygan, Mich.; his mother Elizabeth "Betty Brent" Dugal, Lafayette, La.; one brother, Brent Dugal, Lafayette, La.; four sisters, Dona Dugal, Richmond, Va., Debra Desormeaux, Slidell, La., Dianne Paris, Houston, Texas, and Denise Dugal, Lafayette, La.; his aunts, Roylyn Owens, Lafayette, La., Corinne Bidwell, Lafayette, La. and Gail Bulloch, Monroe, La.; numerous nieces and nephews, and his caring friend, Carol Ardoin, of Lafayette, La.He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Edward Dugal Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy B.
