Doris L. DUPUIS

MERIDEN - Doris L. (Dupuis) Fontanella, 93, of Meriden, wife of the late Attilio A. Fontanella, died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at Westfield Care & Rehab Center.Born in Meriden on July 11, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (LaRochelle) Dupuis. She had resided in Meriden all her life and graduated from Meriden High School. Mrs. Fontanella was employed by Taylor's Variety Store and Joe's Variety Store in Meriden. She was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church.She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Richard Leiner of New Britain; a son, Gary P. Fontanella and his fiancée, Carol A. Mauri of Meriden; two grandchildren, Beth Ziobrowski and her husband, Stephen of Cheshire, and Dawn Zavalishin and her husband, Joseph of Moodus; two great-grandsons, Zachary and Gregory Ziobrowski; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Hazel, Ruth, Mildred, and Helen; and four brothers, Clarence, Henry, Wilbur, and Joseph.The funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
