TROY - James D. Durand, 77, Dec. 23, 2005, died at his residence in Troy. He was born in Troy.Jim was employed by Allegany Steel and was retired a number of years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Pacific from 1945 to 1949. Jim had a passion and love for fine wood carving and made many beautiful carvings. He is the husband of Patricia A. Lanchok Durand and the father of Kevin (Bonnie) Gratto, Troy, Kelly (John) Knapp, Troy; also six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Saratoga National Cemetery.
