IRENE EGAN ARCHAMBAULT BRANCATO JERICHO — Irene Egan Archambault Brancato, 89, passed away on Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. Irene was born on Dec. 7, 1916, in Jersey City, N.J. She was the daughter of Mary A. McInerney and Thomas P. Egan. Irene attended St. John's School and Dickinson High School, graduating with honors. She received her nursing degree from St. Catherine's School of Nursing, Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1938. There she met Dr. Mark D. Archambault of Essex Junction. They married and made their home in Essex Junction. In their office in Essex, she assisted her husband with his obstetrical and gynecology practice. Dr. Mark passed away in 1975. She later met an old friend, Vito Brancato, married and lived in Florida until his death in 2001. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Zeno and her husband, Carl, of Shrewsbury, Patricia Gulick and her husband, Joseph, of Ridgefield, Conn.; and one son, Mark W. Archambault and his wife, Lois, of Jericho; two stepchildren, Shawn Brancato of San Francisco, Calif., and Claudette Hollenbeck of Wilmington. She leaves eight grandchildren, Jason and Giles Zeno, Jacqueline Lambertson, Jennifer Young, Joseph Gulick III, Amy Lambiase, Mark D. Archambault II, Robert Archambault; great-grandchildren Zoe and Benjamin Lambiase, Emily and Caitlyn Archambault, Aidan and Kaelyn Archambault, Keeler Lambertson, Evangeline and Clay Gulick. Irene was predeceased by three brothers, John, Joseph and Thomas Egan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Catholic Church in Underhill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vermont Heart Association, 12 Hurricane Lane, Williston, Vt. 05495.
