Marian Martha EMERSON

LANCASTER -- Marian Martha Demers, 75, of 34 Portland Street in Lancaster, died on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 at WeekÕs Medical Center after a brief illness.Born and raised in Stark, a daughter of Robert and Zilpha (Lee) Emerson, she had been a resident of Lancaster for 30 years.Before retiring, she worked in a shoe factory and a paper mill. She loved to knit, crochet and go for rides. She was a member of the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church in Berlin.Family members include her four children, Alfred Demers of Lancaster, Germaine Demers of Lunenburg, Vt., Jane Willette of Berlin, and Daniel Demers of Stark; eight grandchildren, Sydney Bryant, Michael Bryant, Jesse Willette, Jessica Willette, Maranda Demers, Deserae Demers, Kyleh Demers and Gemini Demers; one great-granddaughter, Felicia Boisine; two sisters, Phyllis Noble of Florida and Dorothy Patrick of Groveton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Her husband, Willie Alfred Demers died on Feb. 26, 1987; a daughter, Linda Demers and one grandchild also died previously.Calling hours were held on Sunday, Jan. 16 at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 17 at the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church in Berlin, with Pastor Shane Riff officiating.
