Services for Jules "Joe" Escagne, 59, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will follow in Broussard Cemetery in Bayou Petit Anse.Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited by Rev. Bill Melancon at 7 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Thursday at 8 a.m. until the time of service.A native and resident of Iberia Parish, Mr. Escagne died at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at Iberia Medical Center.Mr. Escagne was an employee for AKZO for 31 years and Cargil for eight years. He was a member of Saturday Night Mixers Bowling League. He was a loving and devoted husband and brother. He was generous, loving individual who always was there to help others who were in need. He put all his faith in God and was deeply loyal to his faith. He loved to travel and was looking forward to retirement. He was very meticulous with his yard and vehicles.He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Juanita Landry Escagne of New Iberia; two sisters, Dorothy Melancon and husband Roy of Coteau and Loreana Dees of Avery Island; a brother, Johnny Escogne and wife Marsha of Carlsbad, N. M.; seven godchildren, Arthur Dees, Donna Cogswell, Travis Melancon, Brandy Boutte, Amy Etie, Heather Dees and Jr. Williamson; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mr. Escagne was preceded in death by his parents, Aldolph and Edna Desormeaux Escagne Landry; and a brother, William Escagne.Pallbearers will be Johnny Escogne, Arthur Dees, Dale Dees, Ricky Delcambre, Rene' Melancon and Marty Boutte.Honorary pallbearers will be Rudolph Boy, Leroy Landry, Willis Landry, Mike Porier and Chad Landry.David Funeral Home - North, Trotter Street, is in charge of the arrangements.
