KEENE -- Ernest J. Facto, 85, of 16 Old Grist Mill Road, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born Feb. 9, 1920, in AuSable Forks, the son of Eli and Della (LeClair) Facteau.Ernie was a retired Navy lieutenant and fought in World War II, receiving a good conduct medal. He was a member of the AuSable Forks American Legion and the Elks Club of Keeseville. Ernie, an avid golfer, was a longtime member and regular at the Cobble Hill Golf Course in Elizabethtown.He is survived by his daughter, Leah Facto, of Micco, Fla.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Lee and Heidi Pisacano and Michele and David Knight; two great-grandchildren, Bryson and Darien Pisacano; three sisters, Winifred White of Wibaux, Mont., Loretta Furnia of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Mada Caron of Albany; a brother-in-law, William Washburn, of Keene; special friends David and Carolyn VanSise of Keene; and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at W.M. Marvin's Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral Mass will be conducted by Msgr. Peter Rianni at St. Elizabeth's 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28. A military burial service will be held in Norton Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Ernie's memory may be made to Bruce McPhail at the Cobble Hill Golf Course in Elizabethtown, NY 12932.
