Jeanne Fontaine Snyder, 84, of Lancaster, died surrounded by her family and loved ones on November 8, 2005. Born in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Florence F. Hart Fontaine. She was the wife of the late Finley E. Snyder. She served in the US Army Air corps as a corporal during WWII. She worked at Mc Caskey High School as a custodian from 1971-1986. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, AMVETS, and a lifetime member of the American Legion. She is survived by daughters, Patricia S. wife of James Smith of New Providence; Andrea Jud of West Chester; Frances Snyder of Lancaster; and Jeanne Marie wife of Sherman Martin of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Karen Hennessey of Lancaster; Laurie Cantey of Strasburg; David Jud of Wrightsville; and Susan Stahl of York; three great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Lee Snyder; brothers, George and Lawrence A. Fontaine; and a stepfather, Michael Michalis. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or to the Rheems Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 155 Broad St., Rheems, PA 17570.
