FONTENOT, BILLY D. A resident of Elkmont, Ala., and a heavy-equipment operator with Hawkins Groundwork Inc., Athens, Ala., he died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, in Huntsville, Ala. He was 50 and a native of Whitehall. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, and after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Religious service at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Terry Jackson. Interment in Whitehall Community Cemetery, Maurepas. He is survived by his father, Barlow Fontenot of Maurepas; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Bridget Fontenot of Rogersville, Ala.; daughter, Natasha Fontenot and her fiancé, Henry Bryant III, of Denham Springs; two sisters, Bobbi Diddon of St. Amant and Betty Sellers of Maurepas; two grandchildren, Henry Bryant IV and Sailor Fontenot; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Romine Fontenot. He was a member of the Church of God, Athens, and he loved to hunt and fish. Published in The Advocate on 12/27/2005.
