LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Kelly Fontenot, 76, who died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at Lafayette General Medical Center.Interment will take place at Lafayette Memorial ParkThe Very Rev. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church, will serve as celebrant of the Mass.Mr. Fontenot, the son of the late Joseph Fontenot and the former Addie Savant, was a native of Ville Platte. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He retired with over 20 years of service with Central Industries. His hobbies included visiting with family and friends, fishing, gardening, football and sports.Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marilyn Fontenot; one daughter, Cindy Broussard and husband, Richard, of Lafayette; two granddaughters, Addie Broussard and Kaitlyn Broussard, of Lafayette; one step-granddaughter, Christy Fontenot and husband, Allen, of Augusta, Ga.; three step-great-grandchildren, Hunter Fontenot, Broc Fontenot and A.J. Fontenot, of Augusta, Ga.; one sister, Ethel Israel, of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, Leland Fontenot, of Ville Platte, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Fontenot and Addie Savant Fontenot; four brothers, Marion Fontenot, Elvin Fontenot, Dalbus Fontenot and Liverty Fontenot.Visiting hours were observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.Pallbearers will be Dennis Hoffpauir, Harry Foreman, Tony Eden, Michael Fontenot, Raymond Savant and Gary Gautreau.Honorary pallbearers will be Cal Gautreau, Dale Dupre' and Leland Fontenot.Personal condolences may be sent to the Fontenot family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com.Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
