Anne Delphine (Fortier) Duray, 96, Grand Forks, ND, went home to be with her Lord and Savior March 16, 2005 at Villa St. Vincent Care Center, Crookston, MN where she had resided since January 2002. At her side were her daughter, Linda and her husband Michael Brotherton. Anne was born May 29, 1908 near Drayton, ND the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Huard) Fortier. She grew to adulthood on the family farm. Anne married Adam A. Duray of Minto, ND on October 1, 1929 in St. Edward's Catholic Church, Drayton, ND. They lived in the Walsh county area until moving to Grand Forks in 1944, where they raised their six children. She was preceded in death by her husband Adam on July 31, 1982. Anne was an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church from the time she moved to Grand Forks. She was a member of St. Michael's Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Marquette 677. In her 'seniors years' she was involved with the Senior Citizens Center in Grand Forks. She enjoyed social gatherings with friends and family, oil painting, gardening and home construction projects (She was our little 'Jack of all trades'). Most of all, she enjoyed dancing. Anne and Adam were as smooth as glass on the dance floor and she could have danced all night. She was a strong woman, who imparted to her children the same courage that enabled us to cope with life's challenges. We love you, and will miss you until we meet again in our Heavenly Home. Anne is survived by her sister and best friend, Delia Huard, Grand Forks, ND; sons, Cyril 'Cy' (Jackie), Mesa, AZ; Allen (Jody), Harbor City, CA; daughters, Joann Duray, Playa Del Rey, CA; Gloria Shobert (Chuck), Chino, CA; Linda Duray-Ramstad (Michael Brotherton), Grand Forks, ND; 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister-in-law, Henrietta Tillett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
