Josephine C. (Fortuna) Gaudet, 77, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 25 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Boston, she attended Boston Schools. Mrs. Gaudet was a resident of Stoughton for the past 47 years. Mrs. Gaudet worked as a seamstress for Richard Lewis in Canton for many years and also taught nightschool at Stoughton High School. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She was very active at Immaculate Conception as a CCD Teacher, Eucharistic Minister, member of the Mass Catholic Women’s Guild and was a Bingo volunteer since 1977. In her free time she enjoyed sewing. She is survived by her children, Joanne C. Sousa and her husband Joseph A. of Taunton, Paula M. Aumendo and her husband Jerry F. of SC, James P. and his wife Dianne C. of Middleboro, Denise E. Kotlik and her husband John A. of Stoughton, Stephanie J. Bono of Scituate and Debra A. Gaudet of ME. She was the sister of Salvatore “Sam” Fortuna of Belmont, Mary Perella of Somerville, Anna Pasqua of Mansfield and the late Joseph Fortuna. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Donations in Josie’s name may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Ave, Bob Hope Rd., Miami, FL 33136. Burial will follow at Belmont Cemetery, Belmont.
