Ida FOUNTAIN

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Ida (Fountain) Demers, who was born in Groveton, N.H., on June 16, 1911, died at the age of 94 on June 4, 2005 in Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, with sepsis and pneumonia. She and her husband, Alderic Demers, grew up in Groveton, worked in the Northumberland Paper Mill for many years, moved to South Portland, Me. during the war and returned to Groveton and opened “Demers Shoe Repair and Sales” on Main Street. In 1958 they sold their business and moved to Riverside. Alderic died in 1976.Family members include two children, Philip Demers of Boston, Mass. and Evelyn Jordan of Riverside, both formerly of Groveton; four grandsons, Wayne Jordan and wife Dena of Colton, Dennis Jordan and wife Lisa of Colorado Springs, Colo., Thomas Jordan of Riverside, and Gary Jordan and wife Brenda of Bangor, Me.; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Antonine Gould of Venice, Fla., two brothers-in-law, George and his wife Loretta of Riverside and Leon Demers and his wife Althea of Fitchburg, Mass., all formerly from Groveton; and many nieces and nephews in Massachusetts, Florida and California.A rosary was held and a funeral mass was said at Queen of Angels Church. Burial was at Oliverwood Cemetery in Riverside on June 9.
