Helena "Helen" Palasz (née Idziak) January 13, 1924 - November 22, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Duncan) Helena, Mom, Babcia, you may be gone, but never forgotten! We will always hold a special place for you in our hearts! Helena is survived by many friends and her loving family. Her husband of 51 years, Boleslaw (Boris), her 3 children (Anne, Ed, and Danielle) and their spouses (Larry, Eliesa, and Jamie), and her 6 grandchildren in whom she took great pride and joy, Steven, Carey, Ben, Joshua, Randi, and Ryan. Helena was born in Zagorw, Poland where she lived until the age of 14. When the war broke out she was taken to Germany where she worked for the next 4 years on a farm. At the end of the war she first immigrated to Belgium, and then on to Saskatchewan in 1952 where she married Boris. Finding Saskatchewan winters to cold, after one year, she moved to Duncan, BC, where she has resided since. Helena was actively involved in her church and the Catholic Women’s League. She loved reading, gardening, and her friends and family. Helena befriended everyone she met, and will be truly missed by all that knew her. May guardian angels look after you always! Prayers will be offered at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 2085 Maple Bay Road, Duncan, BC on Sunday, November 28, 2004 at 7:00 pm. Mass for Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward’s Catholic Church on Monday, November 29, 2004 at 10:00 am. The Reverend Fathers John Laszczyk and Frank Franz Celebrants. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society, Parkinson’s Society, or a charity of your choice
