Carolyn Ann Blanchard, 62, of Lemmon Valley, Nev., died Dec. 17 at Washoe Medical Center, Reno.Mrs. Blanchard was a native of Sonora and was raised in Tuolumne County. She had lived in Lemmon Valley since 1991 and previously lived in Modesto 30 years. She worked at the Dodge Ridge ski resort and was an advanced skier. She graduated from Sonora High School. She was a song leader and a member of the high school drama and ski clubs. She sang in the choir at the Standard Church. She enjoyed gardening, riding horses, swimming, camping and travel.She is survived by her husband, Gregory Eckles of Lemmon Valley; children, Richard Blanchard of Modesto and Lori Ann Doyle of Fernley, Nev.; mother, Elaine Alice Fryar of Modesto; sister, Billie Marrujo of Sonora; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, William Fryar.A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Mountain Shadow Cemetery, Sonora.
