Ruth L. (Gareau) Cerce of Marshfield, formerly of Brockton, a homemaker, died Monday at her home. She was 83. Born in Brockton, she was raised and educated there. Mrs. Cerce was a homemaker. She also worked part-time in shoe manufacturing for various firms including Brockton Footwear. For several years she was co-owner with her husband of Aleona Rest Home in Abington. She lived in Brockton until moving year-round to her summer home in Marshfield 20 years ago. Mrs. Cerce is survived by her husband of 57 years, Alphonse A.; two daughters, Dianne Nichols of Marshfield and Pamela Fitzmaurice of Abington; two sons, Kevin of Wareham and Michael of Englewood, Fla.; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Christ the King Parish Church, Brockton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Arrangements by Waitt Funeral Home, Brockton.
