Joseph Donald GAULIN

Joseph Donald (Shorty) Gaulin, of Stamford, CT, a former resident of Elmsford, NY, died June 3, 2005 at Stamford Hospital. He was born January 29, 1935 in North Tarrytown, NY, the son of Donat and Elise Gaulin. He was raised and educated in No. Tarrytown, NY, a graduate of No. Tarrytown High School in 1957. He lived in No. Tarrytown from 19351958, in Elmsford from 1958-2004 and then in Stamford, CT. Mr. Gaulin owned Shorty's Bar and Grill in Elmsford for over 25 years, and retired in 1989. He was a member of the French American Club of No. Tarrytown. On Sept. 27, 1964, he married Marlene Benedict at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, White Plains, NY. Locally he was a Boy Scout in elementary school, a member of St. Theresa's Parish in No. Tarrytown, and a Parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Elmsford. Mr. Gaulin will be remembered for his friendliness and generosity. He loved to hunt, play cards and spent time with friends and family. His greatest pleasure was being with his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter Stacey Keller and husband Larry, grandchildren Marlene and Eric of Stamford, CT, son Donald Gaulin and wife Dee, grandchildren Tara, Claire and Philip of Ohio, brother Norman and wife Theresa, sister Theresa Malone and husband Philip of Elmsford, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Marlene in 1988, sister Claudette Gaulin in 1990, father Donat Gaulin in 1983 and mother Elise in 1988. Visitation Sunday 7-9pm, Monday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass Tuesday, 10am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Elmsford.
