Services for Robert “Bob” M. Gauthier, 73, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Tom Cain and Deacon Coty Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau.Visiting hours will be observed today from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday at 8 a.m. until the time of service.A native of Parcperdue and a resident of Coteau, Mr. Gauthier died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.Mr. Gauthier retired from Cain’s Tractor Sales as a salesperson. He loved farming his cattle and loved his family. He was also a Cub Scout Troop Leader. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam.He is survived by his wife, Madeline Wilcox Gauthier; a daughter, Elizabeth G. Buster and husband Brad; two sons, Burt Gauthier and wife Sondra all of Coteau, and John Gauthier and wife Joan of Leroy; two brothers, Donald and Dickie Gauthier; seven grandsons, Aaron Gauthier all of New Iberia, Michael Buster of Baton Rouge, Aaron Melebeck of Houston, Michael Fleniken of Louisville, Jace Fleniken of Kaplan, Robert and Justin Long both of Coteau; seven granddaughters, Laura Roddy of Leroy, Regina Trosclair of Houma, Tina and Kim Melebeck both of Houston, Tana Fleniken of Lake Charles, Victoria Moss of Lafayette, and Sheena Long of Coteau; two step-daughters, Joyce Melebeck and husband Clovis of Houston, and Wanda Fleniken and husband Mike of Kaplan; two step-sons, Daniel Moss and Robert Long both of Coteau; and seven great-grandchildren.Mr. Gauthier was preceded in death by his parents, Albert J. and Philomene Freemin Gauthier; and first wife, Shirley Delcambre Gauthier.Pallbearers will be Aaron, Burt and John Gauthier, Brad Buster, Robert Long and Daniel Moss.Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Rodriguez, Dickie and Donald Gauthier, Dallas Broussard and Charles Russo.David Funeral Home - North, Trotter Street, is in charge of the arrangements.
