Edgar R. GAUTREAU

Edgar R. Gautreau, 78, of Upland passed away peacefully at home April 1, 2005. He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, December 10, 1926. Ed served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1952. He worked at Convair in San Diego and General Dynamics in Pomona from 1952 to 1987. He graduated from Pepperdine University in 1975 and taught business classes at Chaffey College, Mt. San Antonio College and General Dynamics. He married Marilyn Fildes in San Diego in 1950 and they were planning to celebrate 55 years of marriage in June. They lived in Claremont for 20 years and in Upland for 31 years. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Larry Gautreau and his wife Carolyn of San Bernardino, Sharon Gautreau-Lane and her husband Chuck Lane of Pinon Hills, David Gautreau of Upland; grandc hildren, Chris Gautreau, Lindsey, Travis and Russell Lane, Noelle Gautreau, Jesse Schriek; great-grandson, Brody Gautreau; brother, Lucien Gautreau and his wife Barbara of Cumberland, RI; sister-in-law, Trudy Gingery of San Diego. Ed enjoyed being with friends and family, traveling worldwide, working in his garden and shopping, always looking for the sales! He and his family appreciated the many years of support he received from his physicians and health care workers. Memorial services will be held Friday, April 8, 1:30 p.m. at the Stone Funeral Home in Upland, 355 E. Ninth St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Sick Baby and Hospital Assistance Funds at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
