Gautreau of Charlestown died on Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at his home following a lengthy illness. Edward was born in Chelsea, attended Chelsea Public Schools, and has lived in Charlestown for several years. Edward is a retired painter for the Chelsea Public School Department. Edward is the husband of Margaret (Sullivan). He is the father of Patricia Callahan and Louise Doherty both of Charlestown and Michael Gautreau of Wilmington. Edward is the loving grandfather of Coleen, Caitlyn, Bridget, and Aileen Callahan, Patrick Doherty, and Michael, Ryan, and Jimmy Gautreau. He is the brother of Evelyn Onchick and Dorothy DeFelice both of Chelsea and Renie Downs of Florida. Edward’s funeral will be held from the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, on Saturday, May 29, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the St. Frances de Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Edward will be held on Friday, May 28, 2005, from 4 – 8 p.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
