LOWELL -- Helen J. (Gazda) Plouffe, 85, a resident of Lowell, died Thursday Dec. 15, at a local nursing home. She was the wife of Norbert R. Plouffe.She was born in Lowell on Dec. 9, 1920, daughter of the late John and Mary (Patla) Gazda.Mrs. Plouffe was a member of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut.Mrs. Plouffe enjoyed cooking, crocheting and embroidering.Surviving her besides her husband are three daughters and a two sons-in-law, Dorothy and John Hayes of Lowell, Marianne and James Luedtke of Dracut, and Debora Courtemanche of Dracut; three sisters, Rose Maille and her husband, Raymond, of Dracut, Sophie Thibault of Lowell and Stephanie Carignan of Florida; seven grandchildren, John Hayes, Angela Robarge, Jonathan Hayes, Christopher Luedtke, Keith, Andrew and Christina Courtemanche; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frederick Gazda, Sr. Mary Agnes Gazda and Sister Aloysius Gazda.Published in the Lowell Sun on 12/18/2005.
