Heidi Jean Gebo, 25, of Stewartstown, died on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook. She was born on October 18, 1979 in Middlebury, Vt., the daughter of Donald A. and Mary (Marsceill) Gebo Sr. Heidi attended the Mary Hogan School in Middlebury, Vt., where children from her classes would clamor to have Heidi play with their group at recess and lunchtime. In the early 1990s Heidi moved to Colebrook to live with her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Haynes. Heidi was very active in Vershire activities and was a member of the Tip of the State Black Bears Special Olympics Team. She was an active member of the Colebrook Bowling Team and an avid photographer. Heidi had many friends in the North Country but also had numerous friends from all over the United States with whom she kept in close contact. Heidi enjoyed NASCAR, where she always rooted for the underdog, reading and expanding on her excellent computer skills. In her younger years Heidi loved spending time at the Butler Farm, where she helped her father milk cows several times a year. Heidi Jean Gebo is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ronnie (Mary) Haynes of Colebrook; her father, Donald A. Gebo Sr. of Lincoln, Vt.; her stepfather, Ronnie Haynes of Colebrook; three brothers, David A. and Donald A. Gebo Jr., both of Bristol, Vt., Mark A. Gebo of Middlebury, Vt.; step-grandmother Mrs. Orville (Francis) Haynes of Colebrook; aunts Linda Haynes Stonner and husband Tom of Goffstown and Nancy Haynes Call and husband Duane of Colebrook, uncle Thomas Haynes and wife Lisa of Bedford; nine nieces and nephews, several cousins and special friends Estell Shepard, Jill Gebo and Holly Gebo, all of Salisbury, Vt., and Doug Butler, Tim Butler and Coleen Forbes of Middlebury, Vt. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 6 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, May 7 from 9-11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Colebrook. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with the Rev. Kathy MacGregor officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Those wishing to memorialize Heidi Gebo may give to the Tip of the State Black Bears, care of Special Olympics of New Hampshire, 650 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
