Services for Mrs. Desire “Dez” Landry the former Adella Girard, 84, were Saturday at 2 p.m. in David Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia with deacon Jimmy Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Migues Cemetery in Delcambre.Visiting hours were observed Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services.A native of Delcambre and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Landry died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at 7:50 a.m. in her residence.She is survived by two sons, Clifford Landry and his wife, Mary, of Kaplan, and Randy J. Landry Sr. of New Iberia; two daughters, Brenda L. Thomas and her husband, Barron, of New Iberia, and Jeanette Landry of New Iberia; five brothers, Frank, Wilson and Minos Girard of New Iberia, Raoul Girard of Morgan City, and Ronald Girard of Henry; three sisters, Hilda Theriot of Henry, Loula Mae Renard of New Iberia, and Marie Bourque of New Iberia; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.Mrs. Landry was preceded in death by her husband, Desire “Dez” Landry, parents, Leus and Ella Migues Girard, and a sister, Angela Theriot.Pallbearers include Clifford, Randy, Kevin, Coty and Jay Landry, as well as, Randy Landry Jr. and Randy Landry Sr.Honorary pallbearer will be Barron Thomas.David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Trotter Street is in charge of the arrangements.
