Alexandre J. Goyette, age 80, formerly of Fairfield, died peacefully at home in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on September 17, 2005, with his family by his side. Mr. Goyette was born in Ste. Thécle, Quebec. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from D'Addario Construction where he was a crane operator and member of IUOE local 478 for many years. In Connecticut, he was a member of St. Pius X Church and the Franco American War Vets. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Vivian Goyette of Port St. Lucie; four children, Denise Puffer and her husband, Stanley, of Bridgeport, Claudette Goyette of Oxford, Alexander Goyette II and his wife, Jean, of Fairfield and Marc Goyette and his wife, Judy, of Trumbull; 12 brothers and sisters, all of Quebec; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church in Fairfield, on his birthday, November 11, 2005 at 10 a.m. Donations may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 1201 S. E. Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997, in his memory. Published in the Connecticut Post on 11/6/2005.
