Rosemary A. GREGOIRE

LOWELL -- Rosemary A. (Gregoire) Carey, 89, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell and a retired admitting clerk for Lowell General Hospital, died yesterday morning, Dec. 1, at her home. She was the wife of Thomas F. Carey, who died July 8, 1970.She was born in Lowell on April 2, 1916, the daughter of the late John J. and Catherine (Kennedy) Gregoire. She attended Lowell schools, and graduated from Lowell High School.Before retiring, Mrs. Carey was employed for more than 20 years as an admitting clerk at Lowell General Hospital. Following her retirement, she was the business manager for St. Mary Magdalen Church in Tyngsboro.For many years, she was a communicant of St. Rita Church and St. Mary Magdalen Church. She was also a member of St. Rita Sodality, Poor Clare Guild and the League of Catholic Women.She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Katherine and William Merrill, Frances and Thomas Flynn, and Susan and Gary McPhilips; a son, Thomas F. Carey Jr.; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.Mrs. Carey was also the sister of the late John J. Gregoire Jr. Published in the Lowell Sun on 12/2/2005.
