WATERVILLE -- Cecile Girard, 93, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at Inland Hospital. She was born Nov. 23, 1912, in St. Prosper, Quebec, the daughter of Joseph and Mathilda (Langelier) Grenier. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, the Sunshine Club and was a longtime resident of Seton Village and was very active in the Seton Village Community. For the past 14 months, she resided with her daughter in Sidney. She enjoyed playing cards and especially loved her trips to Las Vegas. She loved her bird and her daughter's dog. She was predeceased by a son, Robert, and husband Francis "Ted" Girard. Surviving are four sons, Arthur Girard of Lake Elsore, Calif., Norman Girard of Stafford Springs, Conn., William Girard of Chandler, Ariz. and Theodore Girard of Heathrow, Fla.; three daughters, Shirley Brennen of Zephyrhills, Fla., Helen Graham of Marietta, Calif., and Constance Grant of Sidney; and a brother, Raymond Grenier of Winslow; 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
