Fred B. Guillemet, 71, of Chino passed away September 9, 2005, at San Antonio Community Hospital, Upland. He was born October 13, 1933, in Stockton, CA and resided in Chino for the past 68 years. Fred was a plant pathologist for the University of California, Riverside, and retired after 37 years. He had an Avocado Stock Root Patent, and was considered a preeminent expert in his field. He earned his Master's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, Chino; the Southern California Basque Club; was a youth baseball coach in Chino; and was a lifelong UCLA, L.A. Dodger, and Notre Dame fan. H e was also student body president at Chino High School in 1951. Fred is survived by his wife, Lucille Guillemet; son, John P. Guillemet of Ontario; and grandson, Kyle Guillemet of Ontario. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Guillemet in 1982. A vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. this evening at Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 at St. Margaret Mary Church, Chino. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, dona tions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, N.Y. 10163.
