WESTBROOK - On Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, Bernadette Rondeau, 83, of Westbrook peacefully returned to our Lord surrounded by her family Bernie was born on May 13, 1922 in Westbrook to Adelard and Marie Anna Blanchette Guimond. She attended St. Hyacinth Parochial School and was a communicant of St. Hyacinth Roman Catholic Church. She worked at Dana Warp Mills where she met her husband of 58 years, Robert. She worked as a housekeeper and cook at St. Hyacinth Rectory and was a cook at Westbrook Community Hospital and the Barron Center. Bernie taught ceramics for 15 years, attending many seminars where she became a certified teacher. One of her biggest joys was when she created magic as an oil and watercolor painter. She always kept herself busy doing crafts and made many beautiful quilts. She enjoyed participating in the St. Hyacinth Christmas Craft Fairs. Bernie loved music and played the organ, harmonica and ukulele, and loved to sing at family Christmas gatherings. Bernadette's life was filled with family, which was always the most important thing to her. She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Rita and Theresa; and two brothers, Roland and Roger. She leaves her beloved husband, Robert; two devoted sons, Bob and his wife Heather of Gorham, and John of Westbrook; a sister, Jeanne Landry of Windham; a brother, Paul of Westbrook; three grandchildren, Chelsea, Kelly and Connor of Gorham; and several nieces and nephews. At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held at Blais & Hay Funeral Home in Westbrook on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006 at 11 a.m.
