Lionel N. Jacob, 78, of Manchester, N.H., died Dec. 5, 2005, at Elliot Hospital, after a period of failing health.He was born Sept. 12, 1927, in Hooksett, and was the son of Leon and Alice (Duhaime) Jacob.He attended Hooksett schools and resided in Manchester most of his life.Mr. Jacob worked with Genest Bakery for 27 years. Later, he worked at Tom-Ray Office Supply for several years before his retirement.He was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony Parish, where he was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Society. He was well known for his huge yard sales on behalf of many charitable organizations.Family members include his wife of 51 years, Elise M. (Eschrich) Jacob of Manchester; two sons, Richard F. Jacob and David R. Jacob, both of Manchester, three daughters, Louise C. Gregoire, Susan E. Gagnon and JoAnn P. Rheaume, all of Manchester; 11 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Jacob of Bedford and William Oscar Jacob of Hooksett; five sisters, Eva Janelle and Gloria Camire, both of Manchester, Sr. Dorothy Jacob of Hudson, Beatrice Bedard of Goffstown, and Estelle Roy of Hooksett; many nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 14 in St Anthony Church, Manchester, with burial in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association of NH, 249 Canal St., Manchester, NH 03101.Connor-Healy Funeral Home, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
