Aloydis E. JACOBSON

Aloydis “Jake” E. LaBrec, 73, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.Jake was born June 23, 1932, in Chimney Rock, Wis., to Ernest and Adeline (Stevens) Jacobson. She married Harold “Porky” Andersen in 1949 and later married Lyle LaBrec in 1965. Jake was employed as a bartender at Two Waters Bar and Indianhead Bar in Lake Hallie for many years.Jake “coordinated” a bingo run to Turtle Lake for many years. She also loved playing bingo, playing cards every Thursday at Ole’s, fishing and visiting with people. Jake was a very loyal person to her family and friends. She loved everyone unconditionally. As a nurse at Luther Hospital said: “She grabbed your heart and ran with it.” Jake is survived by seven children, Rebecca (Ken) Mewhorter of Chippewa Falls, George (Becky) Andersen of Chippewa Falls, Brian (Tammy Sneen) Andersen of Chippewa Falls, Brenda Andersen (Scott) of Gillett, Wis., Debbie LaBrec of Augusta, Sonny LaBrec of Chippewa Falls and Paul Andersen of Chippewa Falls; 12 grandchildren, Debbie Stabenow (Gene Flick), Wayne (Amy) Mewhorter, Tomas Mewhorter, Chad Andersen (Jen), Kurt (Angie) Andersen, Jody Andersen, Joe, Stephanie, Mitchell, Mathew and Marshall LaBrec, Scott Andersen and Sean Erickson; eight great-grandchildren, Heather, Holly and Jonathon Stabenow, Nathan Mewhorter, Dylan and Brody Andersen, Austin and Ashley Schott; a stepmother, Margaret Jacobson of Whitehall; three brothers and one sister, James (Emelia) Jacobson of Fall Creek, George (Ione) Jacobson of Chimney Rock, Ann (Lyle) Romundstad of Eau Claire and Steve (Kris) Johnson of Chippewa Falls; three stepsisters, Marie (Ron) Kugal of Chimney Rock, Sharon (Don) Sonsella of Whitehall and Barb Wiench of Eau Claire; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special friends, Dale Schwoch and Joyce Hammerstad; extended “Family,” Doran Geer, Scooters Softball Team, foster “grandchildren;” nurses and aides at Luther Hospital; and so many more.She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Andersen; a brother, Allen Johnson; a granddaughter, Nicole Walsh.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, with interment in Prairie View Cemetery in the Village of Lake Hallie. Family and friends are welcome from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 1 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. The family extends their extreme gratitude to the staff at Luther Hospital. They made her last days very comfortable as well as taking care of us. Also, Drs. Anderson and Kincaid for their loving care, and especially the women’s Scooters Softball Team.
