Marge Marjorie L. Dufresne -- 7/6/24 - 10/27/05 -- Joined the Lord peacefully surrounded by her family at Loma Linda University H ospital. Survived by her husband, George; her children, Georgette Dufresne of Capitola, Alice and Val Dufresne Reyes of Gilroy, Richard (Rick) and Francine Dufresne of Alta Loma, Anne Marie and Jim Wurdeman of San Diego and Theresa Dufresne of La Jolla; grandchildren, Sebastien and Simone Reyes, Mijanne and Taylor Wurdeman, Nicole Masterson, Eric, Leslie and Jeff Mendez and four great-grandchildren; her sister, Wilma Bell and Family and brother, Glen Knight and Family, all of Manitoba; numerous nieces and n ephews, "Mom" to many and special friend, Shirley Lundquist, Ontario. Preceded in death by her son, Robert Dufresne of Maui. Marge was born in McConnell, Manitoba and grew up on the family farm. She loved animals, especially cats. She worked for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police where she met her husband. Married in 1951, Mrs. Dufresne raised their five children while her husband, George, worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway. The Dufresne family moved from Quebec to Ontario, California in 1959. Marge was a volunteer extraordinaire with six children attending St. George's Catholic School. She was room mother, making cupcakes, helping the nuns, organizing fundraisers and participating in campus-wide activities. She was known at the Church and school to pitch in wherever help was needed. She loved sports, especially baseball, as she had played in her youth. While her sons played in Little League for nine years, she was team Mom, helped run the snack bar, both at the old Sunkist field and the Jack Lundquist fiel d. She was Girl Scout leader for 16 years, with thousands of Girl Scout cookies filling her livingroom. She worked for the Daily Report for six years in her home, hosting 11 paperboys delivering to 1,000 families daily. Ironically, she knew the names of all 1,000 families. Marge then worked for 30 years as a bookkeeper in the automotive industry until she was 78. She belonged to the same bingo group for over 35 years. Marge lived a full, exciting, adventurous life, traveling to Canada, Hawaii and various cities in California to visit her grandchildren. She was a great baker and known for her brownies and tarts. She was an avid knitter, making more than 100 scarves and sweaters for family and friends. Her close relationship with God was reflected in the peaceful way she entered into rest. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Draper Mortuary. Mass will be held at St. George's Catholic Church in Ontario on Wednesday, November 2 at 10 a.m. wit h interment at Bellevue Cemetery.
