COITEUX, ESTHER "LORRAINE" KUCH MORASCH Esther "Lorraine" Kuch Morasch Coiteux, 90, returned to our Heavenly Father Sept. 17, 2005, from Rose Cottage Memory Care in Las Vegas. Lorraine was born July 18, 1915, to Christian and Elizabeth Kuch in Coquille (now Coos Bay). She married Edmund Morasch in December 1932. They were married until October 1963. At the age of 45, she began training to become a licensed practical nurse at Girls Polytechnic in Portland. She passed with an excellent score. For nine years she worked as a nurse at the U. S. Veteran's Hospital and continued working in various Portland nursing and assisted living homes until retirement. Her favorite leisure activity was dancing. Lorraine belonged to the Hollywood Senior Center in Portland and attended afternoon dances there and at other senior centers two or three afternoons each week until Alzheimer's Disease took her sense of balance in 2000. Lorraine volunteered at the Salvation Army's Rose Center from 1983 to 1994. Her services included taking blood pressure readings, keeping up the library and serving meals. She is survived by her daughters, Laurie Coffey-Woodard of Henderson, Nev., and Patricia McCormick of Portland; six grandchildren, Daniel, Julie and Sean McCormick, Jennifer Colvin, Suzanne Moore and Julia Mendoza; seven great-grandchildren, Anthony, Ian, Mia, Kailee, Kari, Josh and Hannah; and one great-great-granddaughter, Aliyah. Lorraine was fun to be with and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, in The Church at Rockwood, 17021 East Burnside, Portland.
