Mrs. Lilyan Brown (née Lucky) November 24, 1915 - November 25, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Avalon & Surrey Funeral Home Lola the Tango Queen is finally a star! BROWN – Lilyan (Leanne) nee LUCKY of North Delta, BC was born by the side of the track in Haig, BC November 24, 1915. She passed away suddenly November 25, 2004 at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Before her passing, in the wee hours of the morning her son and grandson were able to sing her Happy Birthday to celebrate her 89th. She touched so many hearts and lives as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and was known as Gram to all. She will be deeply missed by her son Barry, sister Helene, and grandchildren Tony, Hiedi and Holly, her great-grandchildren, her good friend Darlene and many other dear friends. As a star struck teenager, this simple country girl left for the bright lights. Well, you can take the girl out of the country, but not the country out of the girl. She imparted those down home values all her life. She is now reunited with her loved one’s lost. She will be remembered fondly for her sense of humour and her warm heart. She will be thought of often and loved always. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 30, 2004, Visitation half-hour prior to the service held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 8842 – 119th Street, Delta, BC In lieu of flowers, please send good thoughts to guide her way.
