GORHAM -- Irene M. (Lacasse) Jacques, 79, formerly of Gorham, and later of Holton Point in Lancaster for about 13 years, died on Tuesday evening, Jan. 25, 2005 at the AVH Skilled Nursing Facility in Berlin, where she had been a resident for the past two weeks.She was born in Berlin on Feb. 3, 1925, the daughter of Josephine Lacasse.A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Jacques was a member of the Holy Family Parish. A dedicated homemaker, she was skilled at embroidery and sewing of various crafts, and she loved music. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Family members include a son, Normand Jacques and his wife, Linda of Berlin; two daughters, Jacqueline “Jackie” Taillon and her husband, Daniel of Gorham, and Rachel Delisle and her husband, Denis of Gorham; one half-sister, Madeleine Vaillancourt of Sherbrooke, PQ, Canada; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Lionel O. Jacques died on May 16, 1990.Calling hours were on Friday evening, Jan. 28 at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home in Gorham. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 29 at Holy Family Church in Gorham.
