Robert Edward LaCourse, 78, of Fort Myers, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2005. He was born November 23, 1926 in Marquette, MI and has lived in Fort Myers for many years. At 14 years of age, he left home and worked in lumberjacking and later enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an engineer for 23 years on the Ryerson and was a member of the Maritime Marines. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, N.R.A., donated to various charitable organizations and was past treasurer of the Chateau LeBeau Condo Association for 14 years.Mr. LaCourse is survived by his wife of 26 years: Otilia Helen LaCourse; a daughter: Lisa A. LaCourse of Escanaba, MI; four step-children: Thomas Yuran (Laura) of East Chicago, IN, Rudolph Yuran of Crown Point, IN, Renee Yuran of East Chicago, IN and Helene Servin of Gary, IN; a sister: Evelyn Miller (Charles) of Michigan; two daughters-in-law: Phyllis Yuran of Hammond, IN and Mary Ann Yuran of Crown Point, IN; grandchildren: Jason, Tommy, Jonathon, Rudy, III, Terri Lynn, Susan, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Ramona and Kristina and his best friends: Robert Rubino and his wife, Gloria and Nemo Ciochina and his wife, Gail. Also surviving are several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother: George LaCourse and a sister: Lillian "June" Shevchenko. Mr. LaCourse will be greatly missed by many other family members and close friends.Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, September 19, 2005 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellness House, 131 N.
