Anita A. LAFRAMBOISE

CHICOPEE - Anita A. (Laframboise) Pirog, 92, of Chicopee, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 17, 2005, at the Riverdale Gardens Nursing Home. Born March 1, 1913, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Hajna) Laframboise, she was a lifelong Chicopee resident. She was a graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1930. Anita was a 15 year assistant manager for the former Albert Steiger's Co. at the Springfield Plaza, retiring in 1978. She was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr, and a member of its Rosary Society and Beautiful Years Club. She was also a member of the Over 60 Club of Chicopee. She was predeceased by her husband, Max J. Pirog in 1968, her daughter Regina M. Thurman in 1982, and her son Paul P. Pirog in 2003. Nita is survived by 2 sons John D. Pirog and his wife Gail of Chicopee, and David A. Pirog and his wife Joy of Canton, MA; a daughter Linda E. Leydon of Palmer, a daughter-in-law Doris Pirog of Chester, VA; a brother Arthur E. Laframboise and his wife Ann of Westfield, 2 sisters Florence D. Kwarcinski of Chicopee, and Ruth M. Frodema of Sudbury; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Francis "Crutchy" Laframboise in 1981. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Kozikowski Funeral, 565 Front Street, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee.
