Theresa Helen LAJOIE

PLATTSBURGH -- Theresa Helen LaPointe, 85, of Wolfe Way, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, Vt. She was born in Dannemora on April 24, 1920, daughter of the late Nelson and Nellie (LaRocque) LaJoie.Theresa was employed by the Plattsburgh City School District as a Cook Manager, retiring after 22 and one-half years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Parish and Our Lady of Victory Altar Rosary Society. She was a greeter for funerals at Our Lady of Victory Church. Theresa was a member of the Clinton County Area Ladies Club. She made lap robes and donated them to local nursing homes.Theresa is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Helen L. and Rev. G. Edward "Ned" Bowden of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Donna Vasquez of Plattsburgh; two grandchildren, John Edward (Nancy) Bowden of Ohio, James Nelson Bowden of Ohio; four great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Rita Dugan of Syracuse, Frances Latinville of Plattsburgh, Veronica and Donald Rothermel of Plattsburgh; a sister-in-law, Beverly LaJoie of Dannemora; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, John and Elizabeth (Peryea) Cummings.Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred James LaPointe Jr.; a grandson, Justin Nathaniel Vasquez; her sisters, Aurore LaJoie, Valeda Duval; her brother, Lawrence LaJoie; her friends, Frances Peryea and Richard Peryea.Calling hours will be Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh with Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux officiating. Committal prayers will follow at the Chapel at St. Peter's Cemetery. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. A reception will follow at Our Lady of Victory Parish Center.In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa's name may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
