William M. LARUE

LAMBERTVILLE -- William M. LaRue, 76, died on Monday at the Hospice at Chandler Hall, Newtown, PA. Born in Lambertville, Mr. LaRue was a lifelong city resident. He was the maintenance supervisor at the St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, Lawrenceville for many years before his retirement in 1991. Earlier he owned and operated his own oil burner service in Lambertville. He served with the U.S. Army in World War II and in the occupational forces. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and later served in the Air National Guard. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Joseph A. McNerney Chapter 41, State of New Jersey. He was an exempt member of the Union Volunteer Fire Company of the Lambertville Fire Department and a volunteer with the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad. He was the husband of the late Mary Bowe LaRue, the son of the late Horace LaRue Sr. and Emma Weaver LaRue and the brother of the late Horace LaRue Jr., Marie Wilson and William La Rue. He is survived by his son, William LaRue; his daughter, Elizabeth LaRue, both of Lambertville; his grandchildren, Michelle, Christopher and Danielle; his sisters Alice R. Steffanelli of Hammonton and Marjorie L. Kessel of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York St., Lambertville. Interment Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township. Calling hours at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Thursday morning until the time of services.
