SCARBOROROUGH - Paulette Ann Lasante Forbes passed away from this earth on Sunday Morning Nov. 6, 2005. She died at home and in her bed. At her side was her loving partner of 16 years, Robert Merrill and her daughter, Michelle Legere. Her last breaths were peaceful as she passed. Paulette had an unexpected and courageous fight with cancer that overcame her body but certainly not her beautiful and loving soul. Paulette was preceded in death by her precious grandbaby, Simon Jeffrey Hunsberger on Aug. 22, 2005; by her loving youngest son, Jeffrey R. Legere; nephew, Peter Fortier; and her parents, Edgar and Etiennette Lasante. Paulette is survived by her partner, Robert Merrill of Scarborough; two children, Michelle D. Legere and husband Jeffrey A. Hunsberger of Eden Mills, Vt., and Christopher A. Legere and partner Isabella Roversi, of Boston, Mass. Additionally, Paulette is survived by her sister and husband, Diane and Robert Fortier, of Moody Beach; brother and wife, Paul and Carol Lasante of Parsonsfield, James and Karen Merrill of Scarborough, Joe Merrill, Laura Gilbert and children, Jena and Aidan of New York, N.Y., Brian Merrill and Pam Janke of Boston, Mass., and Ingrid and Jacob Merrill of Hamburg, Germany; grandson, Nathan Tenney of Salem, Ore.; and granddaughter, Christina Emard of North Berwick; as well as many nieces and nephews, co-workers and friends. Paulette's soul is our shining sun, our coziest comforter, our prettiest flowers and our best friend. She reached out to so many people and touched so many lives but was able to make everyone she met feel as if they were the center of the universe. Her faith in God was without question. As a mother, Paulette was totally and faithfully devoted to her children, grand children and nieces and nephews. Her love and devotion for her partner and family is without end and her beautiful energy will live with us all forever. Her friends and co-workers at Hussey Seating thought of her as family and their kindness and love for Paulette and her family was mutual. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the newly created SIMON Kindness Fund - started recently in the namesake and honor of her grandbaby Simon who died suddenly of unknown causes in August. The SIMON fund will create an internet and phone outreach network for parents and families who tragically experience a death of a child due to SIDS, SUDI, miscarriage, stillbirth, accidental or medically related death.
