LACONIA — Irene Lillian (Leavitt) Blais, 91, of 406 Court St., formerly of 23 Hillcrest Drive, died on Tuesday morning, Nov, 29, 2005, at St. Francis Healthcare Center after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Dupont) Leavitt. She was born Oct. 9, 1914, in Laconia where she was raised and schooled. She lived in New Ipswich for many years before moving back to Laconia in 1977. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was also a member of the Women's Club in New Ipswich.She was predeceased by her husband J. Lionel Blais in 1989, by a son, Jason R. Blais in 1999, a grandson Stephen Blais, and a sister Florence Herbert. Survivors include one son, Ronald L. Blais and his wife Eva of Greer, S.C.; two sisters, Pearl Kulacz of Franklin, and Doris Hamel of North Carolina; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. Laconia. The Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps, pastor of the church, will celebrate the Mass. There are no visiting hours. Family and friends are invited to attend.
