LANGDON, CATHERINE LORETTA A memorial service to celebrate the life of Catherine Loretta Langdon will be held on Dec 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Unitarian Fellowship of Fredericton, 874 York Street. Loretta passed away peacefully on November 26th at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. She was born on March 4, 1926 in Saint John's, Newfoundland, the daughter of the late John and Carrie Coady. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, J. Kenneth Langdon, and their four children, Brenda LangdonEmbry of Jakarta, Indonesia; Ken Langdon of Woodstock; Andrea Seymour of Fredericton; Willie Neill of Fredericton; their spouses, Rick Embry, Sandi Langdon, Tim Seymour and ten grand children, Jonathan and Michael Langdon -Phillips, Liana and Marisa Langdon Embry; Tyler and Jesse Langdon; Ryan and Mathew Seymour; Nicholas and Kailey Neill. Loretta Langdon was a person of unparalleled kindness and compassion. Her nurturing spirit and devotion to her family lay at the very core of her existence. She was a woman of humility and great integrity and a woman who was genuinely delighted by the happiness of those dear to her. Her life was guided by an abiding faith in the goodness of others, particularly that of her children and grandchildren. She was a pillar of strength and the heart and soul of the Langdon family. Loretta was a great uniter and a great communicator, drawing people around her in good times and in bad. She was quick to offer a hot cup of tea, a word of encouragement and always believed that things would all work out in the end. Loretta will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Loretta Langdon to the Palliative Care unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital through the Chalmers Regional Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the New BrunswickHeart and Stroke Foundation.
