LYDIA - Services for Walter "Punchy" J. LeBlanc, 71, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will follow in Broussard Cemetery in Bayou Petit Anse.Visiting hours will be observed Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service with a rosary being recited at 9:30 a.m. at the church.A native of Bayou Petit Anse and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. LeBlanc died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Iberia Medical Center.Mr. Walter and Mrs. Katy were married for over 36 years. He worked for 25 years for Tuboscope and then for Norris Radar for 23 years before retiring. He liked sports and playing solitare.He is survived by his wife, Katy Broussard LeBlanc; two sons, Kim LeBlanc and wife Renee, and Kent LeBlanc and wife Shunda; two brothers, LeRoy and Harold LeBlanc; a sister, Mary Briganti; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Kourtlyn LeBlanc; and a step-grandchild, Amber Buteau all of New Iberia.Mr. LeBlanc was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Azena Frioux LeBlanc; and a sister, Margarie Broussard.Pallbearers will be Kim, Kent, Mike, Barry and Wayne LeBlanc and Eddie Toups.Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Briganti Sr., LeRoy LeBlanc, Harold LeBlanc,Daniel Frioux, Patrick Broussard and Mike Andrus.David Funeral Home - North, Trotter Street, is in charge of the arrangements
