Lebrun, Omer -- December 6, 2005 Omer Lebrun, 85, of The Valley, and formerly of Ferndale Drive, died Tuesday at Community General Hospital. Omer was born in St. Alberts, Ontario, Canada. He was co-owner of Flor-Wall Distributions in Syracuse, retiring in 1982. He served in the Canadian Army in Africa during World War II. He was a communicant of St. James Church, former member and Commander of Can/Am Legion Post #173, founding board member of Midstate Youth Hockey and an assistant Scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 148. He enjoyed traveling and camping in the great outdoors and gardening. He was an avid hockey fan and was very active in the raising of his pride and joy, "his grandchildren." His life revolved around his wife, Ella, who died October 28; his children and his grandchildren. He was a very caring gentleman. Omer is survived by his two sons, Marcel (Stephanie) Lebrun of Syracuse and Gary (Lianne) Lebrun of Nedrow; three grandchildren, Nicole, Kristen and Pierre Lebrun; one great-grandson, Dylan Lebrun; and one sister, Germaine Poirer of Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. Calling hours will be held Friday, 7 p.m., at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, with a memorial service to immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
