Lige P. LeCompte -- 1920 - 2005 -- Lige P. LeCompte, 85, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, in Fort Worth.Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials: Donations may be made to Children's Rescue Outreach Inc., 7301 Brandie Place, North Richland Hills, Texas 76180 (Jay's House); or American Heart Association, 2401 Scott, Fort Worth, Texas 76103.Lige was born Sept. 24, 1920, in Burleson. He was a member of South Fort Worth Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Lige retired from the Montgomery Ward mail order department.Lige was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Ethel LeCompte, and wife, Emma Rene LeCompte.Survivors: Daughter, Lanette Eason and husband, Louis; granddaughters, Lori Matweeff and husband, Bruce, and Lisa Reed and husband, Dennis; grandsons, Lael and Lamar Eason; great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Chace Reed; nephew, Ed Jordan and wife, Nelda; nieces, LaVonne Dobbs and Jo Hightower; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
