ORAN, Mo. -- Norman "LuLu" LeGrand, 79, of Oran died Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 30, 1925, at Oran, son of Zeno and Weldon Antonia Stike LeGrand. He and Marjorie Ann Asmus were married Sept. 5, 1951. LeGrand worked at International Hat Co. in Oran, retiring in 1992 as shipping clerk. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council 4311, and VFW Post 5368 at Morley, Mo. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; a son, Patrick LeGrand of Oran; two daughters, Marcia Roslen and Michele Anderson of Oran; three brothers, Calvin LeGrand of Oran, Ronnie LeGrand of Dexter, Sam LeGrand of Cape Girardeau; six sisters, Judith King, Marilyn Diebold and Sandy Hahn of Oran, Betty Stewart of Clinton, Miss., Ruth Ann Urhahn of Benton, Mo., Arlene Harrell of Chaffee, Mo.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a stepgranddaughter. Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 5 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 7 and Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:15. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. John Harth, the Rev. Normand Varone, Monsignor Richard Rolwing and the Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery with military rites to be conducted.
