Marie Ange LEVESQUE

Marie Ange (Levesque) Beland Lacasse, 87, of Groveton, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin after a lengthy illness. Born on September 22, 1918 in St. Antoine Padoue, Quebec, she was a daughter of George and Adelaide (Oullet) Levesque, and came to the United States in 1954. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton, and of the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, carpentry work (tearing down and rebuilding), being a caretaker for friends and family, and spending time with her family both in the U.S. and Canada. Marie is survived by her three sons and their wives, Gerard "Frenchy" and Geneva Beland, Alphonse and Theresa Beland, all of Groveton, and Rodrique and Tammey Beland of Faston, Vt.; and a daughter, Gaitane Parlier of Montreal, Quebec. The family also includes eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and cousins in Canaan and Hereford. Marie was predeceased by her first husband, Jean Beland, on January 23, 1970, and by her second husband, Leonard Lacasse, on May 1, 2004. Calling hours were held on Friday evening at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. A Mass of Christian burial was conducted on Saturday morning at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton, with Fr. Daniel Deveau officiating. Burial took place that afternoon at the St. Jeanne D'Arc Cemetery in Salaberry-De-Valleyfield, Quebec.
