Hildegarde L. LINDSTROM

Waterford - Hildegarde L. Hamel, 91, formerly of Mullen Hill Road, Waterford, died on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at Bayview Health Care.She was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Halmstad, Sweden, the daughter of the late Karl and Agnes (Karlson) Lindstrom.She came to the U.S. at age 13 with her younger brother, the late Roy Lindstrom.She married Joseph L. Hamel on June 12, 1942, in Mississippi. Mr. Hamel died on Nov. 19, 1998.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. James Episcopal Church, 76 Federal St., New London. Interment will be in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London.Donations in her memory may be made to St. James Episcopal Church.Published in The Day on 12/24/2005.
